Basketball Recap: Remi Schieber and Luke Jones Secure Win for Plaza Heights Christian Academy

There's no place like home for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past the Christian Learning Center Mustangs with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-47. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-46 back in November of 2024.

Leading Plaza Heights Christian Academy to victory were Luke Jones and Remi Schieber. Jones went 8 for 17 en route to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals, while Schieber went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. George Carpenter was another key player, putting up four points.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Christian Learning Center's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Rhodes, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hill, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Christian Learning Center, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy has already played their next match, a 57-38 win against Training Center Christian on the 17th. As for Christian Learning Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-44 victory against Overland Christian on the 17th.
