Saint Andrew had won six straight games and Xander Gerard did his part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Scots came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured an 85-80 W against the Pine Crest Panthers with plenty of help from Gerard, who almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine boards. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Connors, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Saint Andrew's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Pine Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Saint Andrew's will welcome St. John Paul II Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Crest, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against NSU University at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 70.4 points per game this season.
