The Westbury Huskies pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 62-55 to Santa Fe. Westbury was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santa Fe apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Santa Fe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenny Torres led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Aidan Jewell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Westbury's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Santa Fe, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westbury will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heights at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Santa Fe, they will head out on the road to face off against Angleton at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
