Millard South was led to victory by Isaac Jensen and Bernie Anderson. Jensen scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, while Anderson scored 16 points. Jensen also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Sam Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Columbus' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Messersmith, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Micek, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Millard South's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Columbus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Millard South will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Creighton Prep at 5:15 p.m. on December 29th. Creighton Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 392 points over their last six games. Columbus will be home for the holidays to greet North Platte at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
