The Ware Shoals Hornets lost against the Dixie Hornets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ware Shoals fell 61-48 to Dixie. While losing is never fun, Ware Shoals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Dixie is ranked 111th).
Ware Shoals lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayce Medlin, who scored 20 points. Medlin's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for five games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Stewart, who scored 12 points.
Ware Shoals has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Dixie, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ware Shoals will take on South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Dixie, they will be playing at home against Calhoun Falls Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
