They snuck past Democracy Prep Agassi Campus with a 58-52 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mater Academy East Las Vegas.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Academy East Las Vegas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendon Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Miles Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xzaviar Rayford, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tai Coleman, who scored 19 points.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Academy East Las Vegas will face off against Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mojave's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they will head out on the road to face off against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Eldorado is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
