After a string of seven wins, the Wesley Chapel Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Berkeley Prep by a score of 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wesley Chapel's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Hicks, who scored 22 points along with three steals, and Sian Morris who scored 20 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hicks has scored all season. Javin Harrison was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Wesley Chapel's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Berkeley Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Wesley Chapel won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Lake at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in East Lake's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. Berkeley Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
