AAA District 9 recap Oct. 9, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hendersonville, who took down 30th ranked Hendersonville, 24-20.
Beech extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 9 this week by beating Wilson Central, 17-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Beech's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Buccaneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lincoln Kenitzer has thrown for 857 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Dametris Watson has 16 catches for 326 yards. Jalen Hurd leads the league in rushing with 1967 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gallatin takes on Portland. The Green Wave are in seventh place, while the Panthers are in fifth place.
Beech and the Wildcats played the most hotly contested game in AAA District 9 this week, with Beech eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Kenitzer threw for 148 yards and one touchdown and ran for 32 yards in the win.
