Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holmes County Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrison Davis, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 128 yards and a touchdown. Jartavious Smart was another key contributor, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Holmes County Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Terrance Hibbler Jr. was especially locked on to Corinth's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, West Point put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Gentry 54-8 at home. With West Point ahead 21-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Holmes County Central's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for West Point, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
