Softball Recap: Bellbrook Snags Tenth Win in Last 13 Games

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bellbrook challenged Clinton-Massie on Thursday. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 9-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Chasidy Stewart (OH Christian) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kelsey Kenney (2027) and Kori Place (2026) did most of the damage at the plate: Kenney (2027) went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Place (2026) went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Place (2026) has posted since back in May of 2024. Taitum Savey (2025) was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bellbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton-Massie only posted a batting average of .241.

Bellbrook has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton-Massie, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellbrook will venture away from home to take on Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Golden Eagles 3.6, the Rams 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Clinton-Massie, they are taking a road trip to square off against Western Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
