After a string of three wins, Shepherd's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Bullock Creek Lancers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bluejays have suffered since April 24, 2025.

Bryce Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Tristin Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Shepherd's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Bullock Creek, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

While Shepherd had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
