The Dillon Wildcats were the 66-52 winner over the Marion Swamp Foxes when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Dillon was outmatched by Marion at home and fell 50-23.
Dillon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shawn Samuel, who scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rahmond Hamilton , who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Marion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jameir Legette out in front who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles White Jr, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Dillon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Marion, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dillon will take on Conway at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion, they will be playing at home against Lowcountry Leadership at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lowcountry Leadership has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
