Ripley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Westview Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ripley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Chargers are ranked 33rd).
Last Saturday, Ripley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-24 to the Tomcats.
Meanwhile, Westview narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Golden Tide 34-32. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Westview has scored all year.
Westview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mccall Sims out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Evans, who scored eight points.
Ripley dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
