Softball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Mohave Accelerated had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wickenburg Wranglers with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Lucy Wickham was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tanner Banks, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Mohave Accelerated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in 20 consecutive games.

Mohave Accelerated pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wickenburg, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Looking ahead, Mohave Accelerated will be playing in front of their home fans against North Valley Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wickenburg, they will venture away from home to challenge Glendale Prep Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something the Wranglers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
