The Zalma Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Westwood Baptist Academy at home and fell 71-22. Zalma was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-14.
It was another big night for James Hawley, who scored 27 points along with 8 assists and 8 steals for Westwood Baptist Academy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hawley has scored at least 25% of Westwood Baptist Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jones, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Zalma's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zalma will square off against Scott City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crosspoint Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Crosspoint Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
