The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They breezed by Winside on the road to the tune of 59-27. Tri County Northeast's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rhyanne Mackling was a one-man wrecking crew for Tri County Northeast as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mackling has scored at least 25% of Tri County Northeast's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylinn Mitchell, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellie Topp, who scored ten points. Katelyn Jaeger was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Winside struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tri County Northeast posted 11 assists.
Tri County Northeast's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Winside, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.
Tri County Northeast will head out on the road to face off against Ponca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winside, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Creighton on December 15th. Creighton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
