Houston County hadn't done well against McKenzie recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday.  Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Houston County to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Mac Baggett, who  went 11 of 17  on his way to 27 points. That's the most  points  Baggett has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Paul 'Ryan' Carter, who  dropped  a double-double on 26 points and 11  boards.
Houston County now  has a winning record of 12-11. As for McKenzie, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record  this season.
 Coming up, Houston County is taking a road trip to  square off against Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for McKenzie, they will welcome Camden Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
