Softball Recap: Riverside Wins Going Away Against O'bannon

Riverside never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the O'Bannon Greenwaves with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Allie Reed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ashley English was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Sheppeard, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .957. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Riverside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for O'Bannon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Riverside has already played their next contest, a 15-2 victory against Yazoo City on the 10th. As for O'Bannon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-11 loss against Charleston on the 9th.
