In what's become a running theme this season, the Bluffton Bobcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Colleton County 50-23 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Bluffton sure is getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Bluffton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tacoya Heyward led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Heyward is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amirah Brown, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Bluffton pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Colleton County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Bluffton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against May River at 6:00 p.m. May River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Bluffton is ranked 18th). As for Colleton County, they will head out on the road to challenge Lucy Beckham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
