The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Niceville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fleming Island is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Fleming Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Orange Park by a score of 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.
Fleming Island let Paige Courson and Ashlyn Madine run wild. Courson went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Madine went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Courson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Lily Bravo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Fleming Island hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Niceville got themselves on the board against Gulf Breeze on Thursday, but Gulf Breeze never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Dolphins.
Gulf Breeze's batters probably weren't too happy with Chloe Bailey, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up zero walks).
On the hitting side, Briana Noles was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Hann, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Fleming Island's record is now 14-8. As for Niceville, their record now sits at 20-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Fleming Island has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Niceville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
