The Richardson Eagles came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Pearce as Richardson made off with a 55-35 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Richardson also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Richardson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Averie Farrell, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Farrell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Ciera Hanks was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 19 rebounds.
Richardson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-13 record this season. As for Pearce, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-15.
Richardson will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irving will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 926th, while the Eagles are ranked 250th). As for Pearce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
