The Garinger Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Charlotte Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Garinger knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully West Charlotte likes a good challenge.
Garinger has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 35 points or more this season. They breezed by Harding University at home to the tune of 78-42. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-15.
Garinger relied on the efforts of Kim?mya Kelly, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals, and Misa Garris, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 steals. The matchup was Garris' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hawah Donzo, who scored 3 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, West Charlotte had to suffer through a rough 76-32 loss at the hands of Independence. West Charlotte was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Garinger's win lifted them to 4-0 while Harding University's defeat dropped them down to 0-2.
Garinger didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Charlotte in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win. Does Garinger have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Charlotte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
