The Leesburg Yellow Jackets won against the Umatilla Bulldogs last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Leesburg took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over Umatilla. The result was nothing new for Leesburg, who have now won eight matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Leesburg to victory were Salomon Georges and Lavoctris Patterson. Georges threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns, while Patterson rushed for 119 yards on only eight carries.
The win was the fifth in a row for Leesburg, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Belleview and 1-7 Umatilla (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 25% over those games). As for Umatilla, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Leesburg will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Specially Fit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 30th. As for Umatilla, they will head out on the road to face off against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
