AA District 7 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Notre Dame moved up to 142 from 183 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA District 7. The Fighting Irish were able to make the jump by beating Lookout Valley 23-13.
Signal Mountain was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Eagles defeated South Pittsburg 55-54.
Grundy County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Yellowjackets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Josh Rhea has thrown for 579 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Hayden Holland has 25 catches for 432 yards. Michael Nolan leads the league in rushing with 267 yards.
Signal Mountain and the Pirates played the most hotly contested game in AA District 7 this week, with Signal Mountain eventually emerging with a 55-54 victory.
