The Garden City Buffaloes lost against the Great Bend Panthers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Garden City received a tough blow as they fell 35-21 to Great Bend.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Bend to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cody Miller, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown. Daxton Minton was another key contributor, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Garden City's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Great Bend, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden City will square off against Lawrence Free State at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Great Bend, they will head out on the road to face off against Salina Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Salina Central is ranked 42nd, while Great Bend is ranked 64th).
