Elias Longhat was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Piano, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Oak Grove Classical Academy 10-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by seven runs or more this season.
David Chavez and Andrew Urban did most of the damage at the plate: Chavez went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Urban went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Daniel Zamora, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
Santa Rosa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
