Calder Millard posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Syracuse's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-14 when he doesn't).

Millard's strong effort led Syracuse over Weber and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are 8-2 against the Warriors going back to April of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
