Conrad Weiser (Robesonia, Pa.) trailed
Donegal (Mt. Joy, Pa.) by 15 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 25-21 victory on Saturday.
The Indians pulled ahead on a
Kris Trimby touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-6. The Scouts took the lead for good with a touchdown run by
Angle Cruz in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 12 points in the third, Conrad Weiser still trailed by 3 points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped CW pull out the victory.
The Robesonia school didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Cruz ran for a touchdown.
The Scouts' most effective player was Cruz. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 28 touchdowns on the season.
Matt Foltz played well for Donegal. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and kicked three extra points. His performance brought his touchdown total to nine on the year.
Conrad Weiser also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-21.
