The Heritage Academy Heroes will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Glendale Prep Academy's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Heritage Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Heritage Academy's pitchers stepped up to hand St. John Paul II Catholic an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday. Fans of the Heroes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Amaya LaDrigue and Sieana Soltero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, LaDrigue pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Soltero pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. At the plate, LaDrigue scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Soltero got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Gloriann Blanco was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Blanco is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Savana Soltero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy made easy work of Leading Edge Academy - GEC on Tuesday and carried off a 20-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Griffins.
Raegan Rockey made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rockey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Glendale Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Sophia Nakachi, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Nakachi has posted since back in April of 2024. Karin DeStefano was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Glendale Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Heritage Academy took their victory against Glendale Prep Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Will Heritage Academy repeat their success, or does Glendale Prep Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
