Brentwood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in WPIAL A Black Hills. The Spartans beat Canevin Catholic 42-6 earlier in the week.
Monessen added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chartiers-Houston, 38-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Fort Cherry's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rangers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Heslin has thrown for 785 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Alex Babirad has 14 catches for 416 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Fort Cherry takes on the Buccaneers. The Rangers are in second place, while Chartiers-Houston is in fourth place.
The league will see a high scoring game when Fort Cherry and Terry Fetsko's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Jim Shiel's team comes in having scored 350 this season, while the Buccaneers have scored 76. The Rangers scored 59 points last week as they defeated Brockway.
Clairton led WPIAL A Black Hills in scoring this week by notching 61 points on Serra Catholic.
