Zoe Davidson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Davidson was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cedar Vale/Dexter let Madelyn Lampson and Bailey Hedgecock run wild. Lampson went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Hedgecock scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Hedgecock has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesyn Vogele, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Flinthills got the win against Sedan on Thursday by a conclusive 15-4. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Emily Scribner was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Karynn Gleason, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Flinthills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sedan only posted an OBP of .348.
Cedar Vale/Dexter's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. Flinthills has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.
Cedar Vale/Dexter took their win against Flinthills in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. Will Cedar Vale/Dexter repeat their success, or does Flinthills has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
