Scott Central has gone a perfect 3-0 against McLaurin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Scott Central has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Scott Central will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Philadelphia, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Rebels came out on top against the Tornadoes by a score of 16-11 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.
Kadelyn Washington made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Washington was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jimma Bell was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Jadora Thomas was another key player, going 4-for-6 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Scott Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, McLaurin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to Jefferson Davis County.
Madelyn Dewease spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, McLaurin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassie Chatham, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
The win got Scott Central back to even at 5-5. As for McLaurin, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scott Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like McLaurin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Scott Central beat McLaurin 19-14 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
