The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tonopah Valley in their matchups with Scottsdale Preparatory Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Tonopah Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sir-Izzik Sanchez-Caldwell, who scored eight points.
Luke Morgan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, scoring 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morgan has scored at least a third of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's points. Kellen Palmer was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Tonopah Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Veritas Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Veritas Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
