Basketball Game Preview: Northside Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Augusta Christian Lions

Northside Christian Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Augusta Christian is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders will host the Augusta Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northside Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Northside Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Ben Lippen as they won 51-36. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Falcons are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northside Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chaelyn Tifre, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 boards. That's the most points Tifre has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Campbell Childers, who posted 16 points and four steals.

Northside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Augusta Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 76-31 defeat at the hands of Heathwood Hall Episcopal.

Northside Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Augusta Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Northside Christian Academy strolled past Augusta Christian in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 49-34. Will Northside Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Augusta Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
