The Biggs Wolverines had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Hamilton. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Biggs has posted since November 30, 2023.
It was another big night for Emilio Vera, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase McLean, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Hamilton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Case Porter, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Porter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Strong, who scored 16 points along with six steals.
Biggs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Hamilton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggs will face off against Los Molinos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to challenge Williams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
