Baseball Recap: Beggs' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Beggs extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 15-8 in the process. They had just enough and edged out the Glenpool Warriors 8-6. That's more bragging rights for the Demons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Glenpool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

For Glenpool's part, Ayden Wade put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. What's more, Wade gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Peyton Surrett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Glenpool is 2-1 when Surrett posts three or more hits, but 9-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Denim Sands, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beggs will take on Roland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Demons are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Glenpool, they will face off against Rejoice Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
