Santa Fe Christian played against Foothills Christian on Wednesday and lost via forfeit.
Bishop's proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tri-City Christian, sneaking past 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since May 31, 2025.
Jessica Yao was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Bailey Brightenburg and Sydney Mafong did most of the damage at the plate: Brightenburg went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Mafong got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Mafong has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nora Wiese, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bishop's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Bishop's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Santa Fe Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Santa Fe Christian came up short against Bishop's in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 6-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
