Volleyball Recap: Columbus North Wins Going Away Against Greenwood

Columbus North not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 10th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Greenwood Woodmen. The Bull Dogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Woodmen, too.

Columbus North never let Greenwood on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-13, 25-19.

Tania Maldonado paced Columbus North's offense, picking up 12 kills. Maldonado got some help from Lexi Denny and her 23 assists. Morgan Osborn controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Columbus North's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Greenwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus North will take on Bedford North Lawrence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will challenge Decatur Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
