The Itasca Wampus Cats will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Mills Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Mills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Itasca, who comes in off a win.
Itasca can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 45-39 victory over Rio Vista.
Valley Mills suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 68-26 defeat at the hands of Frost. While losing is never fun, Valley Mills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 882nd, while Frost is ranked 413th).
Itasca's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-17. As for Valley Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
Itasca came up short against Valley Mills in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 29-24. Can Itasca avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
