The Marion Warriors lost against the Remington Broncos back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Marion fell 44-31 to Remington. Marion has not had much luck with Remington recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Marion lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grace Hett. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with two steals.
Marion struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Marion's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Remington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Marion will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wakefield at 3:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Wakefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 back in December of 2023. Remington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Elk at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. West Elk will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Remington is ranked 59th).
