Baseball Recap: Huffman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Carver Birmingham last Wednesday, Huffman came back down to earth. Huffman lost 21-3 to the Paul W. Bryant Stampede on Saturday.

Huffman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier White, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. White is becoming a predictor of Huffman's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

Huffman has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. With the win, Paul W. Bryant broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Huffman will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Jackson-Olin at 11:00 a.m. Huffman is facing Jackson-Olin at the right time seeing as Jackson-Olin is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Paul W. Bryant, they will take on Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Paul W. Bryant's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
