Graham-Kapowsin extended their winning streak to 14 on Thursday, bumping them up to 21-1. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Rogers Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 back in April.
Brooklyn Pettit was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Pettit wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nalani San Nicolas, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits San Nicolas has posted since back in April.
As for Rogers, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 24, 2025.
Like Graham-Kapowsin, Rogers also got a great game from a two-way player: Sierra Murray (2028). She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Murray (2028) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madison Adair (2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Graham-Kapowsin will be playing at home against Orting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Rogers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
