Evansville North had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Castle Knights by a score of 33-22 on Friday. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 31-21 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Evansville North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Jones, who rushed for 74 yards and one score, and also threw for 70 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. The Huskies also got a significant boost from Quaithan Pauley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Evansville North proved: they limited Castle to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Ricky White, Jr. for the heroic effort on defense: he. Evansville North's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.7.
