Erie got a massive performance out of Natalie Fetters, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Fetters a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keyanna Reeves, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Erie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Lutheran won against Northridge last Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Discovery Canyon. Considering the Lions have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Sophia Reed, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Brightman, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Erie's record now sits at 15-4. As for Lutheran, their record is now an identical 15-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Erie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Erie suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Lutheran when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
