On Wednesday, Harvest Prep rang in the new year with a 51-40 win over North Union.
Harvest Prep found their leader in underclassman Maliyah Lofton, who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. Lofton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Israelle Smith, who scored 14 points.
Harvest Prep now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North Union, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
Harvest Prep will take on Grove City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Union, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwestern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 710th, while North Union is ranked 243rd).
