The Winslow Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Blue Ridge 73-59 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Winslow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kasey Monroe led the charge by scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Torres, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Winslow now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Blue Ridge, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winslow will take on Monument Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blue Ridge, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Pima at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
