It was a good run, but Cocke County unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the South-Doyle Cherokees. The Fighting Cocks lost against the Cherokees in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 79-44 score last time.

Cocke County's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for South-Doyle, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocke County will take on Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South-Doyle, they will look to defend their home court on January 6, 2025 against Powell at 7:30 p.m.
