The Lake Ridge Eagles waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Mansfield Legacy by a score of 81-69. Given Lake Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Mansfield Legacy is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ahmare Rose, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Matthew Alexander was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Lake Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 22 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Mansfield Legacy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-19.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge will square off against Waxahachie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 19 contests. As for Mansfield Legacy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cedar Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Legacy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
