While Centennial didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Lassiter Trojans by a score of 54-47 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights who have now won three contests in a row.

Lassiter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Shinkle, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Liston, who posted 11 points.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Lassiter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Centennial and Lassiter should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Centennial (ranked 143rd) will meet Cherokee (ranked 313th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lassiter will face off against Chestatee at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th up 268 places (197 vs. 465).
