The Valley Vikings suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Eaton, falling 61-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Valley has suffered against Eaton since January 22, 2019.
Despite the defeat, Valley had strong showings from Nevaeh Jimenez, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Cindy Mendoza, who scored five points along with five rebounds. Jimenez is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eaton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Courtney Steinkamp, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Saryiah Gaona, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Valley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. As for Eaton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Weld Central the next time they take the court. Valley will head out to face Weld Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Eaton will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
